Finance: Sharing Financial Administration
The Sharing Financial Administration report looks at models for sharing back office functions such as financial administration and management, concentrating on four models:
- Outsourcing these functions to a specialist provider;
- Partnering with a larger community organisation;
- Co-location with other smaller community groups, and;
- Joining back office and governance functions with other small non-government groups - forming an umbrella organisation.
To increase the chances of success in these arrangements, the NCOSS report says that:
- There must be good relationships between the participating organisations and a great deal of trust.
- The set-up phase has to be properly resourced so all the necessary work can be completed.
