Have your say

VCOSS advocates loudly in support of policies and approaches to defeat poverty and make Victoria fairer and more just.

But the most powerful voice is yours.

We want to hear your personal experiences of poverty, inequality or disadvantage.

All submissions are welcome.

However, right now we are actively seeking first-hand perspectives on:

  1. Back to school costs and hidden fees in our education system.
  2. The changing scale and nature of homelessness across Victoria.
  3. The performance of Victoria’s mental health system.
  4. The social impacts of climate change (inc. energy prices and solar).

Tell us your story

  • This allows us to contact you to check things.

  • Sharing your story does not obligate VCOSS to quote, reference or cite your experiences directly. We will use your story to enrich our understanding of the issues and inform our policy and advocacy priorities. We may quote you or refer to your experiences at our discretion.

This form is for individuals only. If you work for a VCOSS member organisation please contact us on (03) 9235 1000 for details of upcoming policy consultations or to provide direct feedback.

If you are from an organisation that is not yet a VCOSS member, please apply for membership today.

Mark’s story

Mark Brewer contacted us to share his experience of living in public housing and providing for his family on a very tight income.

His story helped us develop a richer understanding of the issues.

Mark later appeared in our 2018 election platform Delivering a good life for every Victorian, and in a short video we produced about power prices.
