Statement on Ministerial departures

STATEMENT ON MINISTERIAL DEPARTURES

Creating social change is all about partnerships.

The mantra “we go fast alone, but further together” is forever true.

Over recent years, VCOSS has had strong partners in Ministers Merlino, Foley, Neville and Pakula.

Between them, they’ve had carriage of some of the key portfolios affecting VCOSS, its members, the people we serve and the wider state of Victoria. These include education, disability, health, mental health, housing, inclusion, children and justice.

These ministers have shown immense vision and leadership in these portfolios. But just as importantly, they have been willing to work in partnership with the social and community sector.

VCOSS plays its role championing policies and approaches that will make Victoria fairer, stronger and more just.

But our state benefits the most when people around the Cabinet table are making this same case.

On behalf of VCOSS, I thank Ministers Merlino, Foley, Neville and Pakula for their service and partnership.

I wish them all well in their post-parliamentary endeavours.
