Juanita Pope appointed as VCOSS Interim CEO

STATEMENT FROM THE VCOSS BOARD

The VCOSS Board has appointed Juanita Pope as VCOSS Interim CEO.

Outgoing VCOSS CEO Emma King is preparing to finish after 10 years leading the organisation.

Juanita will begin 4 September and serve until a permanent replacement is selected.

Juanita Pope is well regarded across the social sector, and in government and legal circles. She has previously served as the head of Justice Connect’s Not-for-profit Law program and worked as a practicing lawyer assisting social and not-for-profit organisations.

“I have long admired VCOSS’ vital work in championing the Victorian community sector,” Juanita said.

“It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to lead the organisation following Emma King’s distinguished tenure, and I look forward to working with VCOSS members and the broader sector to advocate for a Victoria where all people and communities are supported to thrive.”

Juanita has stepped down as a VCOSS Board Director in order to undertake this role.

Emma King’s last day will be Friday 1 September 2023.
